Kelly brings 17+ years of design experience working in the digital space. She adores being a creative as it seeps into every aspect of her life. Tiny details make our world brilliant, and she’s proud to say that she sweats the small stuff.
She began her digital path in 2001 working for a pair of developers that ran an extremely tight ship. She designed CMS and e-commerce websites using a very limited hex palette and size allotment. Most designers would’ve run away. Not Kelly. She found the constraints inspiring; a puzzle that held opportunity for creativity and great work. Little did she know… falling in love with this new space would lead to a deep fondness for the power that design and technology hold.
Kelly moved on to create and manage the online experience (CMS, e-commerce & CRM) for one of the tannest companies out there, Hawaiian Tropic (seriously, the business cards are printed on brown leatherette paper). While there, Kelly elevated the brand’s online presence and swept The Webby Awards 2 years in a row.
A short time later, her Chicago roots came calling. Over the next 7 years, she worked for several large advertising agencies within their lean digital teams. She often wore multiple hats including Art Director, Visual Designer, UX Designer, and mentor to other creatives looking to transition into the digital space. She also managed to create award-winning (FWA’s, DOPE Awards, & ADDY Awards) experiences for clients like Sprint, Disney, and Playstation among others.
A lifestyle change and a chance to focus on her design roots landed her in Portland, Or. For the past 8+ years and most recently at HashCorp, she’s been helping shape experiences across the HCP ecosystem. When she’s not busy sketching or dancing with pixels, you’ll find Kelly and her husband, Kevin, out exploring the Pacific Northwest through the eyes of their sons, Julien & Corbin.
